Who writes this
I'm Tim Hennig, General Manager, Boutique Hotel Matlai in Michamvi Pingwe, Zanzibar. I first came to Zanzibar in 2009, visited every couple of months until 2011, and have lived on the island since. The hotel is family-owned; I run it day to day.
WildToSea exists because most Tanzania and Zanzibar advice is written by people who visited for ten days, or never came at all. The promise here is simple: first-hand, specific, current — real distances, real prices, real seasons — and honest recommendations, including the boutique hotel I run.
I am a hotel manager, not a licensed safari guide or a scientist, and I don't claim to be. What I know first-hand is Zanzibar and its east coast; for mainland parks and tariffs the guides cite official sources and say when they were checked. Who wrote this and how we check facts.
